Our next stop on our eight-day West Coast staycation was the Pacific Sands Resort in Tofino. Tofino is a small town located on Vancouver Island that offers year round surfing and storm watching that attract many people from around the world. Pacific Sands Beach Resort is continually ranked in the top two Tofino Resorts by TripAdvisor. It is set on the edge of Pacific Rim National Park bordered by the shores of breathtaking Cox Bay.
We stayed in a spacious Two Bedroom Beach House. This 1300 square foot, three level beach house offered 12 ft ceilings, a full kitchen with dining area, and a large living space with an outdoor deck. The master bedroom – with floor to ceiling windows (with an amazing beach view) – had a king size bed and full bathroom with a raised soaker tub. The master bedroom on the third level fwas also outfitted with another large outdoor balcony with seating for two. (Click here for a VIDEO tour of the beach house)
The view from the master bedroom balcony.
The bedroom on the second floor offered two queen sized beds with a LCD TV and its own full bathroom. This beach house had more than ample space for my family of four.
Surfside Grill – the sister site to Tofino’s hugely popular Wildside Grill – has settled into its unique Pacific Sands beachfront location. Featuring delicious classic beach food, Surfside Grill serves fish & chips, fish tacos, burgers and catch of the day specials. Most of the fresh seafood you’ll enjoy at Surfside Grill is caught by part owner and commercial fisherman Jeff Mikus, just hours before in the coastal waters. Then chef Jesse Blake whips up the daily specials from the catch.
We ordered Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos and a Crispy Chicken Burger which we all enjoyed on their outdoor picnic tables.
And you can’t forget dessert – soft serve ice cream for the kids to enjoy and cap off a wonderful evening.
Our stay at Pacific Sands Beach Resort was undoubtedly a truly relaxing experience. There is just something special about the sounds of the crashing waves and the smell of the fresh ocean air.
