Early bird tickets are now on sale for the 4th annual BC Distilled Festival on April 8, but serious fans will want to sign up for the three-day tasting series at Legacy Liquor and the Distillers Dinner at Forage during the week preceding the event.
“The growing breadth and depth of the BC distilling industry has opened up opportunities for us to organize companion events leading into the main festival,” said festival founder Alex Hamer. “The Spirits Showcases at Legacy will give people a chance to build their knowledge in a more focused manner, and the dinner at Forage is the perfect way to appreciate BC spirits paired with locally-sourced ingredients.”
BC Distilled is Canada’s premier artisan and micro-distillery event, featuring 34 distilleries, all from BC. It takes place at the Croatian Cultural Centre and offers enthusiasts a chance to taste the province’s top spirits, discuss their qualities with their makers, and enjoy a convivial evening with friends. In addition, an on-site Legacy Liquor pop-up shop will allow participants to purchase bottles, selecting from the widest selection of BC spirits available anywhere, with well over 100 products.
BC Distilled 2017 participants include:
Delicious canapés from Juniper, Timber, Two Rivers, Cascade Room and Lucky’s Doughnuts, as well as chocolate from Koko Monk, and drinks from Walter Caesar, Modern Mixers & Elixirs, Philips Soda, Cahoots Syrups and Rootside Provisions round out the night’s offerings. Those attending the trade and media events will be treated to nibbles from Oyama Sausage, Benton Brothers Fine Cheese and A Bread Affair.
The evening includes a charity auction in support of the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society(PADS), which breeds, raises, trains and supports certified assistance dogs for people living with disabilities and for community care professionals. Some of the festival’s proceeds will also support PADS.
