Wedgewood Hotel & Spa
845 Hornby Street, Vancouver, B.C.
An elegant, world-class property set in the heart of Vancouver’s thriving and cosmopolitan downtown; the Wedgewood Hotel has been a well-kept secret to visitors of Vancouver since it opened in 1984. While the secret is definitely out, the elegance, charm and commitment to service remain.
Upon my arrival at the Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge (Wedgewood Hotel & Spa) I was greeted with a wonderful Kir Royal cocktail; a lovely start to my afternoon.
My choice of tea was Lavender Earl Grey – a well balanced black tea scented with oil of bergamot and perfumed with the finest lavender buds.
A three tiered plate full of assorted pastries arrived to the table. The selection of pastries included Chocolate Éclair, Mini Bakewell Tart, Seasonal Fruit Tartlet, English Fruit Cake, Lemon Chiffon with White Chocolate Ganache, Freshly Baked Scones with Devsonshire cream & Fruit Preserves and assorted Gourmet Finger Sandwiches. Everything was well made and presented.
The Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge is cozy and elegant – a wonderful place to have a relaxing afternoon with friends over tea and pastries.
Afternoon Tea is set at $35 per person and only available Saturday and Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm. I highly recommend making reservations. Valet parking is also available.
Overall a lovely experience and I would definitely come back.
