Hy’s Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar
637 Hornby St, Vancouver, BC
I was invited to a sit down dinner with twenty-one other attendees for a four course dinner at Hy’s Steakhouse organized by Rémy Martin.
Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome drink; Rémy Martin VSOP Champagne cocktail – a perfect drink to start the night.
The first course of the night was steak tartar, classically prepared with cognac and paired with Rémy Martin VSOP Old Fashion. Very nicely prepared.
Next, was a spinach salad tossed with a warm Rémy Martin vinaigrette with smoked bacon, baby mushrooms, and paired with Rémy Martin 1738 Hy’s Car Cocktail.
The third course was a Canadian Prime Rib Petite Filet Mignon with pan seared fois gras, a Rémy Martin wild mushroom sauce and paired with Rémy Martin XO.
For dessert, we were treated to Banana Foster, flambeed Rémy Martin, with toasted macadamia nuts and vanilla ice cream. Dessert was paired with the rarest, most iconic cognac in the world- Louis Xlll. At $6500 a bottle, I savoured every sip.
